Our Yarns: Where Craft Meets Care

Every yarn we use at Shuttleknit has been chosen not just for how it performs, but for how they feel, how they wear, and what they stand for. Each one tells a story, whether it's spun from recycled fibres, is certified organic cotton, or has been part of our creative journey for years. As part of our mission, we offer yarns that are beautiful to work with and aligned with our values: family first, creative sustainability, honoring heritage and cultural storytelling.

Tibet Tweed

Wool-rich, softly speckled, and full of character

Tibet Tweed is our cosiest yarn – a beautifully spun soft wool blend with flecks of colour and a warm, rustic texture. With its gentle halo and natural feel, it’s ideal for scarves, accessories and other items that sit close to the skin. It’s a yarn our customers love for its timeless look and beautiful speckled palette.

Volga

Structured, durable, boldly colourful

Volga is a 50/50 blend of wool and acrylic - which is why it has been our go to classic yarn for years.  It holds shape well and is great for structured pieces like outerwear, or homeware where softness isn’t essential.

It’s been a favourite with our customers for many years because of its bold vibrant colours including Myrtle (purple) and Amazon (blue). This will be a yarn that we are phasing out to replace with more eco and cotton friendly options, but you can still get it in our classic and best selling pieces!
