Our Yarns: Where Craft Meets Care
At ShuttleKnit, we love a good yarn - literally.
We choose our yarns because they feel great, wear well, and have a bit of personality. Some are bold, some are soft, some tell stories of reuse or heritage, but all of them fit who we are as makers. The yarns we work with are a mix of old favourites, sustainable heroes, and fibres that spark our imagination - all chosen with our Traveller culture and creative values in mind
Wool-rich, softly speckled, and full of character
Tibet Tweed
Tibet Tweed is our cosiest yarn – a beautifully spun soft wool blend with flecks of colour and a warm, rustic texture. With its gentle halo and natural feel, it’s ideal for scarves, accessories and other items that sit close to the skin. It’s a yarn our customers love for its timeless look and beautiful speckled palette.
Structured, durable, boldly colourful
Volga
Volga is a 50/50 blend of wool and acrylic - not our softest or most sustainable yarn, which is why we’re gently phasing it out. That said, it has its place: it holds shape well and is great for structured pieces like outerwear, or homeware where softness isn’t essential.
It’s been a favourite with our customers for many years because of its bold vibrant colours including Myrtle (purple) and Amazon (blue). We believe in being honest about our yarns - and Volga, while on its way out, still has something to offer.
Reliable and versatile for everyday pieces
Brittany

You’ll find it behind many of our most colourful, durable items — especially pieces designed to be used and loved over time. A practical choice that helps us offer accessible, long-lasting designs.
